01 / BEFORE THE GAME

Pick up the iPad. Get the game ready.

Plan to arrive 30 minutes before puck drop so there is time for both teams to review their lineups.

1

Collect and open

Get the iPad from the front desk 30 minutes before puck drop. They will ask for your driver’s license.

Open the GameSheet app, labeled GS.

2

Load the scheduled game

Select + New Game → Load from Schedule, find the correct teams and date, then select Load Game.

League games should already be scheduled. Confirm the matchup on the official CBHL schedule.

3

Review both rosters

Open Home Roster/Lineup and Visitor Roster/Lineup. Ask the away manager and head coach to review their players and statuses; have our head coach review ours.

Confirm each team’s starting goalie. Tap a player’s name or status to make an authorized correction.

4

Collect signatures and start the game

Select Sign beside each coach. Have each head coach sign with a finger or stylus, then select Save.

Resolve errors and review warnings. Missing starting goalies and coach signatures are common issues. Confirm period lengths in Game Details. On Scoring, enter the actual start time and select Start Game when the puck drops.

GameSheet says warnings should be reviewed, but they do not all need to be cleared to upload the game.

02 / DURING PLAY

Record what happens, when it happens.

Use the time displayed on the rink scoreboard. Do not convert it to elapsed time.

EventWhat to do
ShotsUse the + / − controls at the bottom for the correct team.
GoalSelect Add Goal, enter the scoreboard time, then choose the scorer and any assists. Leave assists blank for an unassisted goal.
PenaltySelect Add Penalty, then enter the scoreboard time, duration, reason, and player. Record the officials’ call. Examples include tripping, hooking, slashing, high-sticking, holding, interference, boarding, and roughing; available labels can vary by league and season.
Penalty classClass is the penalty category by severity. GameSheet’s acceptable Hockey classes are Minor, Misconduct, Major, Game Misconduct, Game Ejection, Match Penalty, Gross Misconduct, and Penalty Shot. The season’s configured list determines which options appear; record the officials’ call.
New periodAt the start of each period, select the correct period. Otherwise, new events stay under the previous period.
Goalie changeSelect Change when a different goalie enters.
Wrong entrySwipe the goal or penalty, select Delete, and confirm. Then enter the correct play.
Optional: use the live game clock

On the Scoring page, open Settings (gear) and select Include Game Clock. Use Play/Pause to run or pause it, and tap the clock to adjust its time.

Keep the app clock aligned with the rink scoreboard. When paused, new goal and penalty entries use the current app-clock time automatically, so check the time before saving.

03 / AFTER THE BUZZER

Sign, lock, upload—then return the iPad.

Signing and locking are not the same as uploading. Finish all three steps before leaving the scorebox.

  1. 1
    Review and end.

Check the score and entries, resolve errors, then select End Game.

  2. 2
    Get the referees’ sign-off.

Have the officials add themselves, review the goals and penalties, and sign the game.

  3. 3
    Lock the game.

After both officials sign, select Lock Game.

  4. 4
    Upload the results.

On the Games page, tap the blue upload icon beside the game and confirm completion.
